Social Workers, the
Voluntary Sector, Employment/Careers Advisors and other Health Practitioners
are invited to refer Service Users to SWANS.
Our criteria is anyone with
a physical or sensory impairment of working age. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate anyone who does not
fit that criteria due to funding restraints. Unfortunately transport is not provided for Inductions so it is a good idea if you can accompany the person you are referring, it may also reassure them and give them confidence, especially if they are new to the voluntary sector and learning. An induction usually takes between 45 minutes and an hour and a half. They will then leave with an enrolment form which must be returned to the office. This is their commitment to learning and serves as a contract that they will attend the courses they have expressed an interest in. Some Service Users experience financial difficulties, if it prohibits their attendance we would investigate the possibility of claiming the money back through Individual Budgets or other government funding schemes. To make a referral, simply phone the office to make the appropriate arrangements. |
